The story
Marysabel Caballero is a third-generation coffee farmer whose father, Don Fabio Caballero, was a pioneer of high-quality coffee in Honduras. She married Moises Herrera in 1996, and together they expanded their operations to manage over 150 hectares of land. Their partnership combines Marysabel's traditional farming heritage with Moises's background in accounting and his passion for agricultural innovation.
Challenges
The farm faces the ongoing complexities of managing labor dynamics and the technical demands of maintaining quality across a large, diverse operation of over 50 individual farm plots.
Innovations
The producers have invested in modernizing their wet mill and drying infrastructure, and have recently begun incorporating experimental fermentation methods with the involvement of their son, Ezri.
