The story

Marysabel Caballero is a third-generation coffee farmer whose father, Don Fabio Caballero, was a pioneer of high-quality coffee in Honduras. She married Moises Herrera in 1996, and the couple began their own coffee operations in 2004. Moises, originally an accountant from Guatemala, transitioned into farming and now manages the operation alongside Marysabel.

Challenges

The farm operation faces the inherent complexities of managing over 150 hectares of land and diverse cultivars, requiring constant investment in new equipment and agricultural resources to maintain quality.

Innovations

The producers are known for their focus on innovation, including experimenting with drying techniques and investing in new processing equipment at their wet mill in Xinacla. They also actively diversify their farm with a wide range of specialty coffee varieties.
