Alfonso Bialetti is the visionary behind the Moka Express, the octagonal aluminum stovetop brewer that has become one of the most recognizable coffee makers in the world. Born in Italy, Bialetti operated a foundry where he specialized in manufacturing aluminum products. Legend suggests that Bialetti’s inspiration for the Moka Express came from observing his wife using a primitive laundry machine.
