What is Typica coffee?

Typica is often referred to as the 'noble' variety of coffee. Tracing its roots back to the original coffee forests of Ethiopia, it was eventually transported to Yemen and then spread globally by colonial powers. For centuries, it was the dominant coffee plant grown throughout the Americas and the Caribbean. Its historical significance is so profound that almost every other Arabica variety we drink today is either a direct descendant or a mutation of this single, foundational plant.

From a sensory perspective, Typica is celebrated for its classic, clean cup profile. It typically offers a bright, crisp acidity, a delicate sweetness, and a medium body.
