This is a research profile, not an independently conducted farm visit. Producer and coffee relationships are shown only when the records agree. Check the research sources below for supporting evidence.
The story
Founded on October 13, 1960, by 228 small coffee producers, the cooperative was established as an alternative to unfair market practices. Over more than six decades, it has grown into a democratic organization supporting thousands of members and serving as a key economic engine for the Tarrazú region.
Challenges
The cooperative operates within a region where small farms, often under two hectares, face the ongoing need for economic sustainability and the management of environmental impacts.
Innovations
The cooperative has pioneered social initiatives like the 'Casas de la Alegría' program to support coffee-growing families and maintains a focus on sustainable agricultural practices and modern management systems.
Farm profile visuals

Published coffees linked to this farm
For blends, a farm may be named for one documented component without growing the entire coffee. These catalog relationships do not independently verify every lot, harvest or producer. See individual coffee profiles for traceability evidence.
