The story

Kapsokisio is a wet mill located in the Mount Elgon region of Kenya. It operates as a collection point for several hundred smallholder farmers who deliver their coffee cherries for processing. The mill has maintained a long-standing relationship with roaster Tim Wendelboe, who has been sourcing coffee from the cooperative since 2012.

Challenges

The mill relies on the collective output of smallholder farmers, which requires consistent coordination to ensure quality control across many individual plots.

Innovations

The roaster Tim Wendelboe provided financial support to the cooperative to assist in the construction of new drying beds to improve processing quality.
