Pepe Jijón is an Ecuadorian coffee producer based in the Intag Valley, known for his work at Finca Soledad. Originally a psychologist who also climbed Mount Everest, he transitioned into coffee production after purchasing land for environmental conservation. He has gained international recognition for his high-quality, regenerative, and organic coffee production.

History

After a motorcycle accident left him with a paralyzed wrist, Pepe purchased land in the Intag Valley to plant trees and seek solitude. He initially had no interest in coffee, but local farmers recommended it as a suitable crop for the region. His profile in the specialty coffee industry rose significantly following his appearance at the 2021 World of Coffee Milan.
