Despite these setbacks, the company maintained its operations, eventually transitioning its primary roasting facility from Maine to a business park in Jaffrey, New Hampshire, in 2024. This move involved a period of logistical difficulty where Russell commuted 300 miles weekly to his former roasting site to maintain production levels while awaiting the installation of necessary infrastructure at the new location.

Black Ink Coffee operates primarily as a wholesale supplier for cafes and restaurants, while also maintaining a robust e-commerce platform for individual consumers. Their product catalog includes a variety of single-origin offerings from regions such as Ethiopia, Guatemala, Sumatra, Brazil, and Colombia, alongside signature blends like the Maineiac and the Inkwell. The company emphasizes a roasting-to-order model, asserting that this practice ensures maximum freshness for its wholesale and retail clients.

In its production process, the company claims to prioritize quality control by sampling batches before they leave the facility.
