El Porvenir (Gaitania project)

This is a research profile, not an independently conducted farm visit. Producer and coffee relationships are shown only when the records agree. Check the research sources below for supporting evidence.

The story

Luis Muños is a young, second-generation coffee producer based in Gaitania, Tolima. Before establishing his own farm, he gained extensive experience by managing his family's property and assisting neighboring farms. In 2016, he achieved recognition for his work by winning the regional competition known as La Mejor Suavidad.

Challenges

The farm operates within the specific environmental and logistical constraints of the Gaitania region, which requires precise management of fermentation and drying processes to maintain quality.

Innovations

For the exact 2026 lot, ripe cherry was floated, held whole for 48 hours, depulped, fermented for another 60 hours, washed and dried on raised beds to approximately 10% moisture.

Published coffees linked to this farm

For blends, a farm may be named for one documented component without growing the entire coffee. These catalog relationships do not independently verify every lot, harvest or producer. See individual coffee profiles for traceability evidence.

Research sources & verification

These source links were recorded for this farm profile. They document its research trail; a linked source is not, by itself, confirmation of every farm, producer, coffee lot or photo identity.
