Finca Malacara

The story

Finca Malacara was established in 1888 when the Alvarez Lalinde family inherited the land and began coffee cultivation on the Santa Ana Volcano. The property later became the central operations hub for the Alvarez family's farms in 1920. It is currently divided into three distinct lots—A, B, and C—managed by descendants of the original owners.

Challenges

The farm has historically navigated the complexities of managing a large, multi-generational estate and the division of land into separate lots.

Innovations

The farm has maintained a long-standing reputation for quality, with specific lots like Malacara A and C achieving high rankings in early Cup of Excellence competitions.
