Mulugeta Muntasha's farm

The story

Mulugeta Muntasha grew up in the Bursa village of Arbegona, a region that did not traditionally grow coffee. He previously worked as a truck driver transporting coffee from smallholders to washing stations, where he gained industry knowledge. In 2021, he returned to his home region to establish the Dawencho drying station.

Challenges

The Arbegona region where the farm is located did not have a history of coffee cultivation until approximately a decade ago, requiring the development of local infrastructure and expertise.

Innovations

Mulugeta established the Dawencho drying station to process coffee, which has since achieved significant success in the Cup of Excellence competitions.
