San Miguel

The story

San Miguel is a one-hectare farm in central Cauca, Colombia, acquired by Francy Elena Rivera Quiñonez in 2017. After gaining experience helping her husband with coffee farming for over a decade, she restored the land and began cultivating her own coffee to create better opportunities for her family.

Challenges

The farm operates on a small scale, and the producer relies on the income from her coffee to support her family's basic needs, such as housing and education.

Innovations

The farm utilizes the Castillo variety, which was specifically selected for its resistance to coffee leaf rust.
