Villa Sofia

The story

Villa Sofia is a family-owned farm located in the Tolima region of Colombia. It is managed by Wilson Eduardo, who grew up in a traditional coffee-producing family alongside his father, Wilson Rodriguez, and mother, Edith Enciso. The farm was established as a separate entity from the family's other property, Lusitania, to focus on their own coffee production.

Challenges

The farm operates within a region that requires navigating the mountainous terrain of the Andes. Producers in the area must manage drying processes using either patios or mechanical driers depending on local weather conditions.

Innovations

The farm utilizes consistent microclimatic conditions at 1,500 meters to maintain stable production quality. Processing is adapted to weather variability through the use of both patio and mechanical drying methods.
