The Duromina Cooperative is a producer organization based in the Jimma Zone of western Ethiopia, near the city of Agaro. Comprising approximately 320 members, the cooperative focuses on producing high-quality, fully washed coffee to improve the livelihoods of its smallholder farmers.

History

Formed in 2010 with the support of the Technoserve Coffee Initiative, the cooperative was established to provide farmers with the training and infrastructure necessary to produce high-quality, fully washed coffee. This transition helped shift the Jimma region's reputation from producing low-grade natural coffees to high-quality specialty lots. The cooperative's name, Duromina, translates to 'improve their lives' in the Afan Oromo language.
