La Higuera and Vencedor community producers
La Higuera and Vencedor are community-based coffee producer groups located in the Colasay district of Jaén, Peru. These producers operate small-scale farms, typically around two hectares in size, and focus on collaborative specialty coffee production.
History
These producers operate in the Colasay district, where they have moved away from selling unprocessed cherries to large mills in favor of local, community-led processing. This shift allows the farmers to maintain greater control over their coffee's quality and capture a larger share of the final value.
