Max and Claudia Perez are the owners and operators of Finca La Hermosa, located in the Acatenango region of Guatemala. Both are former law school graduates who transitioned into coffee production to pursue a shared dream of farming. They are recognized for their dedication to producing high-quality specialty coffee while navigating the challenges of climate change and environmental shifts.

Max and Claudia purchased the land for Finca La Hermosa in 2010, which had been abandoned for 30 years and contained low-productivity Typica trees. Initially living on the property without basic utilities like water or electricity, they worked to rehabilitate the land and diversify their plantings. Since then, they have established the farm as a notable name in Guatemalan specialty coffee, focusing on high-altitude production in the Acatenango valley.
