Proyectos del Pacifico & Los Volcanes Coffee
Finca Santa Elisa Pachup is a large coffee estate located on the lower western slopes of the Acatenango volcano in the Chimaltenango department of Guatemala. Managed by Proyectos del Pacifico and Los Volcanes Coffee, the farm serves as a significant source of local employment in the town of San Pedro Yepocapa. It is recognized for producing high-quality, volcanic-soil-grown coffee that benefits from the mineral-rich ash of the nearby Fuego volcano.
Farm: Santa Elisa Pachup →History
As recently as 2017, the farm struggled with low productivity, yielding only 700 quintales of coffee cherry. Following significant infrastructure upgrades and a shift in management strategy, production has increased dramatically to approximately 34,000 quintales on the same 360 hectares of planted land. The farm continues to be a major agricultural operation, spanning 506 total hectares.
