Tamiru Tadesse Tesema

Tamiru Tadesse Tesema is an award-winning Ethiopian coffee producer and the founder of Alo Coffee. A former university teacher and electrical engineer, he applies an analytical and precise approach to coffee cultivation and processing in the Bensa district of Sidama. Alongside his wife, Messi, he is dedicated to elevating the profile of Sidama coffee on the global stage.

History

Before founding Alo Coffee, Tamiru spent over a decade working in the coffee industry, including roles in coffee export. Following the inaugural Ethiopia Cup of Excellence in 2020, he established his own company to focus on high-quality micro-lots. His operation now works with approximately 200 smallholder farmers in the Delo Kebele of the Bensa zone.
