Seeking a more stable and fulfilling career, he eventually returned to his roots, purchasing his family’s farm, Finca El Casino, to dedicate himself to the production of high-quality specialty coffee. Today, he manages the farm alongside his wife, Francy Helena Inga, overseeing approximately 10 hectares of land.

Finca El Casino is recognized for its diverse range of coffee varieties, including Caturra, Pink Bourbon, Gesha, and Tabi. Among these, his Pink Bourbon lots have garnered significant acclaim from specialty roasters globally. The Pink Bourbon variety, which has been identified as having genetic ties to Ethiopian landraces, is prized for its sweetness, balance, and complex fruit-forward notes, such as blood orange, cherry, and dark berries. Martínez’s ability to consistently produce high-scoring coffee from these varieties has made him a sought-after partner for international specialty coffee companies.
