Editorial illustration · not a verified farm photograph

This is a research profile, not an independently conducted farm visit. Producer and coffee relationships are shown only when the records agree. Check the research sources below for supporting evidence.

The story

The family coffee operation was established decades ago by Roger Ureña, who began his career building coffee nurseries at age 15. In 2015, the family constructed the Santa Teresa 2000 mill to process their own harvests. The farm is now managed by Roger and his son Alex, overseeing approximately 20 small farms in the Los Santos area.

Challenges

The farm faces the ongoing impacts of climate change, which requires a continuous commitment to sustainable farming practices to maintain quality.

Innovations

The farm operates its own micro-mill, constructed in 2015, and has achieved Carbon Neutral certification while participating in Costa Rica's Ecological Blue Flag Program.

Published coffees linked to this farm

For blends, a farm may be named for one documented component without growing the entire coffee. These catalog relationships do not independently verify every lot, harvest or producer. See individual coffee profiles for traceability evidence.
