Las Moritas

The story

Finca Las Moritas was established in 1988 when Don Higinio and Doña Aura Gómez purchased their first plot of land. Originally named San José Las Moritas, the farm has since grown into a family-run operation that spans 70 hectares in the Sierra de las Minas region.

Challenges

The farm operates in a dry climate, which has necessitated the implementation of specialized irrigation systems to support the coffee trees.

Innovations

The farm utilizes an irrigation system featuring reservoirs that feed water into tubes to manage water distribution, alongside a strategy of selective pruning and replacing deceased plants to maintain the health of their coffee lots.
