The Kiangoi factory is a coffee processing station located in the Kirinyaga region of Kenya. It serves as one of three wet mills operated by the Rungeto Farmers' Cooperative Society, processing cherries delivered by hundreds of local smallholder farmers.

History

The Rungeto Farmers' Cooperative Society was formed in 1997 following the dissolution of the Ngariama Cooperative. The society took over the management of three existing factories, including Kiangoi, to continue supporting the local coffee community. The region has a long history of coffee cultivation dating back to the 1950s.
