Kivubelt Coffee (Furaha Umwizeye)
Furaha Umwizeye is the founder of Kivubelt Coffee, a vertically integrated coffee operation based in the Nyamasheke district of Rwanda. She established the company in 2011 after returning to Rwanda with a master's degree in economics from Switzerland. Her work focuses on sustainable agriculture, local employment, and providing vocational training for smallholder farmers.

Umwizeye founded Kivubelt in 2011 with the goal of creating a sustainable and impactful coffee model. The company operates three farms and two washing stations, Murundo and Jarama, which process coffee from their own estates as well as from over 500 local smallholder families. During harvest, the operation employs approximately 400 people and serves as a vocational school for local farmers.
