Long Miles Coffee Project is a coffee production and exporting company founded by Ben and Kristy Carlson that works with thousands of smallholder farmers in Burundi, Kenya, and Uganda. The project focuses on improving the livelihoods of farmers through higher prices, quality premiums, and direct connections with specialty roasters worldwide.

History

After moving to Burundi in 2011, the Carlsons launched Long Miles Coffee in 2013 to create a farmer-driven production model. They established their first washing station in Bukeye and have since expanded their operations to include multiple washing stations and regional projects in East Africa.
