The Karambi Washing Station serves as a central processing hub for over 700 smallholder farmers located in the Nyamasheke District of Rwanda's Western Province. These farmers operate on small plots of land, typically less than one hectare, and rely on the station to purchase, process, and consolidate their coffee cherries for export.

History

The Karambi Washing Station was built in 2016 by RWACOF and is noted as the first station the company constructed from the ground up. It is situated near the Nyungwe Forest National Park in a region with a high concentration of washing stations, necessitating competitive purchasing practices to support the surrounding community.
