Tamiru Tadesse
Tamiru Tadesse is a prominent Ethiopian coffee producer and the founder of Alo Coffee, an exporting company based in the Sidama region. A former university professor and electrical engineer, he transitioned into the coffee industry to address the undervaluation of high-quality coffee and improve livelihoods for local smallholder farmers.

Before entering the coffee industry, Tamiru worked as an electrical engineer and university teacher. Inspired by the success of a friend in the 2020 Ethiopia Cup of Excellence, he and his wife established Alo Coffee to showcase the potential of Bensa-grown coffee. Their inaugural entry in the 2021 Ethiopia Cup of Excellence won first place, establishing the company as a significant player in the specialty coffee market.
