Dawencho

Dawencho is a specialized coffee drying and processing station situated in the Bursa region of Ethiopia. The facility was founded in 2021 by Mulugeta Muntasha, a producer whose professional background is as notable as his success in coffee. Before entering the specialty coffee sector, Muntasha worked as a truck driver, eventually transitioning into coffee production to return to his roots in a region where coffee cultivation was not historically established as a primary industry.

The establishment of the Dawencho station marked a significant shift for the Bursa area. By providing the necessary infrastructure for post-harvest processing—specifically the drying of coffee cherries—Muntasha enabled local farmers to elevate the quality of their output to meet international specialty standards. The station is known for handling high-quality lots, such as the 74158 variety, which is often processed using both natural and washed methods. These varieties are prized for their distinct flavor profiles, and the station's ability to maintain G1 (Grade 1) quality standards has made its output highly sought after by specialty roasters globally.
