Dawencho

The story

Dawencho was established in 2021 by Mulugeta Muntasha in the Bursa region of Sidama, Ethiopia. Mulugeta, who was previously a truck driver, returned to his home region to start the station after coffee production was introduced to the area. The station quickly gained recognition for its high-quality output, notably achieving success in the Cup of Excellence competition by 2022.

Challenges

The Bursa region was historically an area where coffee was previously unknown, requiring the development of local production infrastructure.

Innovations

The station is recognized for its high-quality processing techniques, which have led to multiple top-ranking placements in the Cup of Excellence competition.
