Fazenda Rio Brilhante

Fazenda Rio Brilhante is a multi-generational coffee estate situated in the Pântano micro-region of Cerrado Mineiro, Brazil. The farm was established in 1984 when founder Inácio Carlos Urban acquired his first plot of land. At the time, the region was considered by many to be unsuitable for coffee cultivation, but Urban’s persistence and commitment to land development transformed the area into a highly productive specialty coffee operation. Today, the farm spans over 1,600 hectares, with more than 1,000 hectares dedicated to coffee production, managed by the second generation of the Urban family, including Erika and Fernando Urban and Noé.

The farm’s philosophy is centered on a proprietary approach known as "Constructive Coffee Farming." This model focuses on the continuous evolution of the production system, prioritizing soil fertility, environmental balance, and long-term value creation. In 2017, the farm placed 2nd in the Imaflora-Rainforest Alliance competition and 3rd in the Cerrado Mineiro regional competition. Furthermore, in 2020, Fazenda Rio Brilhante was awarded first place in the Ethics and Traceability Award, a testament to its dedication to social development, environmental preservation, and responsible agribusiness. The farm maintains several international certifications, including Rainforest Alliance, UTZ, and 4C.
