Fazenda Santuário Sul

The story

Fazenda Santuário Sul was established in 2015 by Luiz Paulo Dias Pereira and Camilo Merizalde as an experimental project. The farm is part of the Pereira family's long-standing coffee tradition in Carmo de Minas, with Luiz Paulo representing the fourth generation of coffee producers in the region.

Challenges

The farm focuses on cultivating rare genetic varieties that often present the challenge of low productivity compared to traditional commercial crops.

Innovations

The farm utilizes progressive cultivation techniques such as shade planting and experimental processing methods, including induced fermentation, to challenge global perceptions of Brazilian coffee. They have also introduced over 30 exotic coffee varieties not typically found in the region.
