San Isidro

The story

San Isidro is a multi-generational family farm located near the town of Ruinas de Copán. The farm was traditionally managed by Katia Duke's family, who historically sold their coffee as parchment to local intermediaries before Katia took over operations.

Challenges

The farm is situated in a dry and dusty environment, which presents specific agricultural difficulties for coffee cultivation.

Innovations

Katia Duke, an agronomist trained at the Zamorano Pan-American Agricultural School, has implemented modern processing techniques such as microorganism fermentation and specialized natural processing to elevate the farm's output.
