Alo Coffee
Tamiru Tadesse is the founder and CEO of Alo Coffee, a specialty coffee exporting company based in the highlands of Ethiopia. A former electrical engineer and university teacher, he applies an analytical approach to coffee cultivation and processing to highlight the unique terroir of the Sidama region. He works closely with smallholder farmers in Bensa to produce high-quality, expressive coffee lots.

Born in Bensa, Sidama, Tamiru Tadesse spent several years working in the coffee industry before establishing his own company. Inspired by a friend's success in the Cup of Excellence, he founded Alo Coffee to bridge the gap between the high quality of Bensa's coffee and its market valuation. In 2021, his company achieved international recognition by winning first place in the Ethiopia Cup of Excellence with their debut submission.
