The Mbature family operates Kamavindi Estate, a specialty coffee farm located in Embu, Kenya, that has been in operation since 1958. The estate is currently managed by Peter John Mbature, a certified Q-Grader who oversees the farm's production, processing, and export operations.

History

Kamavindi Estate began with only 100 coffee seedlings due to colonial-era restrictions on native African farmers. Over the decades, the farm has expanded to over 10,000 trees and established its own private washing station in 1994. In 2018, the family furthered their commitment to quality by opening the Kamavindi Coffee Lab to serve as a training center.
