From the producer

Milder Velásquez is a Coopesqui member in La Libertad, Huehuetenango. The cooperative keeps individual farmer lots separate, and Intelligentsia first selected Milder's coffee through a blind cupping at Coopesqui's quality-control lab.

From the roaster

Intelligentsia classifies this release in its Comforting roast category and describes it as sweet and balanced. The coffee is a washed field blend of traditional varieties, but the individual cultivars are not disclosed.

Why this coffee is noteworthy

This is the third year Milder Velásquez's coffee has returned to Intelligentsia's menu. The release connects a named smallholder, a separated farm lot, 1,900-meter production, washed processing, and patio plus raised-bed drying without claiming an undisclosed farm name or cultivar.

The honest process breakdown

WHAT DID THEY ACTUALLY
DO TO THIS COFFEE?

01
Producer lot kept separate

Coopesqui preserves the identity of individual farmers' coffees, allowing Milder Velásquez's lot to be evaluated and offered on its own.

02
Washed processing

Intelligentsia identifies the release as washed. Fermentation duration and equipment are not disclosed.

03
Two-part drying

The coffee was dried on patios and raised beds.

What was added?

No added fruit, flavoring, or post-roast flavor treatment is disclosed.

What wasn't added?

The public release does not name Milder's farm, list the individual cultivars in the traditional field blend, or disclose detailed fermentation parameters.

Why it matters

Separated lot identity makes the named producer and this specific harvest traceable while the disclosed washed and drying methods help explain the clean, sweet profile.

What you might taste

Intelligentsia lists red apple, cherry, and orange, with a sweet and balanced presentation.

Coffee profile

In the database. Not tasted. Not scored.

This coffee is in our database because we can reliably document it — but we haven't tasted and scored it yet, and we never publish a score we haven't earned.

Outside reviews and internet discussion — is kept clearly separate from our own review. When we taste it, our full review appears here.

The internet pulse

What the internet is saying about this coffee

Research complete — no qualifying reviews yet

Our research pipeline scanned public reviews, videos, forums and discussions for this coffee (last pass 2026-10-25) and found no independent review of this exact release that meets our verification standards. When qualifying sources appear, they'll be published here.

What we found

Non-exact, seller, directory, generic-roaster, different-release, duplicate, and older-release sources were excluded. No qualifying independent exact-release review remains.

Same coffee, different roaster?

Other roasters, same producer.

These coffees come from the same producer or farm, offered by other roasters. We never automatically declare two offerings the exact same coffee — a match requires lot, harvest and traceability details. Even a true same-lot pair can taste different: roast approach, freshness, rest and brewing all reshape the cup.
