Duber Mejia produces this Chiroso lot at El Diamante in Urrao, Antioquia. SEY says this was its first year working with him and that the lot arrived as an unplanned second delivery after his top-scoring coffees.
Sey Coffee is a Brooklyn-based roastery that prioritizes seasonally sourced, delicately roasted coffees. They focus on building long-term relationships with producers to highlight the unique terroir and the dedication behind each harvest.
A distinct July 2026 ‘Surprise Encore’ delivery from a first-year SEY producer in Urrao, documented separately from the February 2026 El Diamante release.
WHAT DID THEY ACTUALLY
DO TO THIS COFFEE?
Cherries were hand-picked at peak ripeness and floated; the official page says they were held in cherry overnight.
The coffee was depulped and dry-fermented for 36 hours.
The lot was washed and dried on raised beds until it reached 10.5% moisture.
Nothing is reported as added during processing.
No fruit, flavoring, or inoculated culture is disclosed.
This is a conventional washed process; the brief overnight cherry hold and controlled dry fermentation support clarity without making it an experimental or co-fermented coffee.
SEY lists tropical fruit, soft florals, and sparkling acidity.

In the database. Not tasted. Not scored.
This coffee is in our database because we can reliably document it — but we haven't tasted and scored it yet, and we never publish a score we haven't earned.
Outside reviews and internet discussion — is kept clearly separate from our own review. When we taste it, our full review appears here.
What the internet is saying about this coffee
Our research pipeline scanned public reviews, videos, forums and discussions for this coffee (last pass 2026-10-27) and found no independent review of this exact release that meets our verification standards. When qualifying sources appear, they'll be published here.
Exact retail catalogs were used only for product and availability corroboration. Seller, roaster, catalog, general-roaster, different-release, and older-release sources were not counted as independent sentiment evidence.

Other roasters, same producer.
These coffees come from the same producer or farm, offered by other roasters. We never automatically declare two offerings the exact same coffee — a match requires lot, harvest and traceability details. Even a true same-lot pair can taste different: roast approach, freshness, rest and brewing all reshape the cup.
