The Morgan family planted the farm in 2008. Eight hectares are planted with Gesha and the remaining land is maintained as native forest. Lost Origin, represented by Franz in SEY’s release notes, handled the controlled inoculated fermentation and drying.
Sey Coffee is a Brooklyn-based roaster that focuses on sourcing and highlighting exceptional, transparently traded coffees from around the world.
This exact lot combines meticulous 21–24 Brix cherry selection over more than twelve picking passes with a documented five-day two-yeast fermentation and 22-day climate-controlled drying protocol.
WHAT DID THEY ACTUALLY
DO TO THIS COFFEE?
Connected the existing Volcán region, Gales farm, Morgan Family producer, Panama, Gesha, and Washed records; recorded Bambito and Chiriquí without creating new entities.
Added Lost Origin’s exact stainless-steel, two-yeast, five-day fermentation and 22-day controlled-room drying protocol.
Added March 3, 2026 harvest, 1,800 masl, mango/lychee/jasmine notes, historical $100/125 g pricing, and corrected availability to sold out.
Volcán, Gesha, and Washed links; exact town/subregion, altitude, harvest date, fermentation, drying, tasting notes, price, and sold-out status.
No conventional roast category, bag-specific roast date, formal lot grade, owner score, tasting verdict, or public sentiment rating was added.
The profile now distinguishes this exact washed Gales lot from other Morgan Estate and Lost Origin coffees that use different processes and lot protocols.
SEY lists mango, lychee, and jasmine. These are roaster notes, not an original site tasting.

In the database. Not tasted. Not scored.
This coffee is in our database because we can reliably document it — but we haven't tasted and scored it yet, and we never publish a score we haven't earned.
Outside reviews and internet discussion — is kept clearly separate from our own review. When we taste it, our full review appears here.
What the internet is saying about this coffee
Our research pipeline scanned public reviews, videos, forums and discussions for this coffee (last pass 2026-10-27) and found no independent review of this exact release that meets our verification standards. When qualifying sources appear, they'll be published here.
Cherrybook and Beanbook corroborate exact catalog facts but do not supply an independent exact-coffee tasting score. Cherrybook’s 67 is an evidence-coverage index, not a cup score, and its Reddit signal is general SEY sentiment.
