History

The family's coffee production began in 1908 when Bruno Mierisch planted his first coffee tree. Following the Nicaraguan Civil War in the 1980s, the family shifted their focus from commercial-grade coffee to the specialty market in the early 1990s. They have since expanded to operate nine farms in Nicaragua and three in Honduras, with Erwin J. Mierisch becoming a prominent figure in the global Cup of Excellence program.
