From the producer

Demeka Becha is a hilltop washing station near Becha village, owned and operated by Ayele Tulu, his wife Genet Haile Endeshow, and their son Tsegab Ayele. SEY says it purchases cherry from nearly 10,000 producers across Dilla Suke, Demeka, Goacho, Becha, and Bashiro Dale.

From the roaster

SEY says it selected both dry-fermented and wet-fermented Demeka lots this year and intends to deepen its focus on Sidama.

Why this coffee is noteworthy

A high-elevation Sidama landrace lot from a station with unusually broad smallholder participation; the title/protocol terminology conflict is disclosed rather than silently resolved.
