Greenco operates Yandaro Washing Station and purchases cherry from the surrounding smallholder community. Published farmer counts vary by source and crop year; Intelligentsia describes more than 3,000 producers served.
Intelligentsia has sourced Yandaro for multiple seasons. The current natural release is a deliberate contrast to the washed coffees more commonly offered from Burundi.
A transparent washing-station natural that documents smallholder scale, cherry selection, raised-bed drying, current price, package size, availability, and flavor profile without assigning an unsupported cultivar or release-specific elevation.
WHAT DID THEY ACTUALLY
DO TO THIS COFFEE?
Smallholder families handpicked ripe cherry and delivered it to Yandaro.
Cherries were floated in water and sorted by hand to remove damaged, underripe, and overripe fruit.
Selected high-quality cherries remained whole and dried on raised beds under near-constant monitoring.
No yeast, fruit, spices, or other fermentation additions are disclosed.
No post-roast flavoring is documented.
The workflow is a traditional natural process, not a generic washed Yandaro preparation.
Ripe dark fruit, fortified-wine sweetness, caramel, and stone fruit, according to Intelligentsia.

In the database. Not tasted. Not scored.
This coffee is in our database because we can reliably document it — but we haven't tasted and scored it yet, and we never publish a score we haven't earned.
Outside reviews and internet discussion — is kept clearly separate from our own review. When we taste it, our full review appears here.
What the internet is saying about this coffee
Our research pipeline scanned public reviews, videos, forums and discussions for this coffee (last pass 2026-10-25) and found no independent review of this exact release that meets our verification standards. When qualifying sources appear, they'll be published here.
Non-exact, seller, directory, generic-roaster, different-release, duplicate, and older-release sources were excluded.

Other roasters, same producer.
These coffees come from the same producer or farm, offered by other roasters. We never automatically declare two offerings the exact same coffee — a match requires lot, harvest and traceability details. Even a true same-lot pair can taste different: roast approach, freshness, rest and brewing all reshape the cup.
