Gedeb natives Worasa Mijane and his son Daniel established the Halo Hartume washing station in 2013, after Worasa began processing coffee at Worka Sakaro in the early 2000s. The site also processes cherry from isolated nearby areas.
Sey Coffee is a Brooklyn-based micro-roastery that focuses on sourcing seasonal coffees and roasting them delicately to highlight the work of their producing partners.
This exact second-selection release documents an unusually clear sequence for a washed community-station coffee: a 12-hour shaded cherry hold, separate 12-hour dry and wet fermentation stages, hand washing, and shade drying to roughly 10% moisture.
WHAT DID THEY ACTUALLY
DO TO THIS COFFEE?
Connected the existing Gedeb district and Ethiopian Landraces records while retaining Yirgacheffe as the broader designation.
Replaced the generic underwater-fermentation and raised-bed claims with SEY’s exact cherry hold, dry-fermentation, wet-fermentation, washing, and shade-drying sequence.
Cleared the inferred Light roast because SEY does not publish a conventional roast category for this exact release.
Added January 2026 harvest, the 1,900–2,210 masl range in prose, current $25/250 g pricing, and current availability.
Gedeb and Ethiopian Landraces links, exact processing sequence, January 2026 harvest, altitude range, current retail price, and current availability.
No single altitude number, drying surface or duration, formal grade, bag-specific roast date, owner score, tasting verdict, or public sentiment rating was added.
The record now reflects the exact release instead of generic washed-process assumptions, and the site can derive regional and variety tags from verified linked entities.
SEY lists melon, plum, and lemon verbena. These are roaster notes, not an original site tasting.

In the database. Not tasted. Not scored.
This coffee is in our database because we can reliably document it — but we haven't tasted and scored it yet, and we never publish a score we haven't earned.
Outside reviews and internet discussion — is kept clearly separate from our own review. When we taste it, our full review appears here.
What the internet is saying about this coffee
Our research pipeline scanned public reviews, videos, forums and discussions for this coffee (last pass 2026-10-27) and found no independent review of this exact release that meets our verification standards. When qualifying sources appear, they'll be published here.
Cherrybook and Beanbook corroborate exact catalog facts but do not provide an independent exact-coffee tasting review. Cherrybook’s 64 is an evidence-coverage index, not a cup score. General SEY sentiment was excluded.

Other roasters, same producer.
These coffees come from the same producer or farm, offered by other roasters. We never automatically declare two offerings the exact same coffee — a match requires lot, harvest and traceability details. Even a true same-lot pair can taste different: roast approach, freshness, rest and brewing all reshape the cup.
